Le théâatre.

La théâtralité est constitutive de la personnalité même de Wilde ! Il est l'homme du double, du miroir, du masque ou de l'illusion (jusqu'à son emprisonnement au moins). C'est un observateur idéal de son temps, et il va en profiter pour dénoncer l'emprise de la moralité victorienne dans toutes ses pièces rédigées entre 1882 et 1894. Non seulement écrites, mais presque toutes interprétées de son vivant, le couronnant auteur à succès définitivement. Sa dernière pièce " l'importance d'être Constant " (1894) marque la fin de ses fastes puisqu'il est incarcéré pendant les représentations. Depuis sa mort, survenue à paris en 1900 à l'âge de 46 ans, chaque année, dans le monde, une pièce de Wilde est mise en scène…
